BE PREPARED

I was born and raised in northwestern Pennsylvania. Much of my early life was shaped by time spent on the creeks and rivers around my home, and during summers, Georgian Bay in Ontario. I have been swimming and canoeing almost as long as I’ve been walking, though my latest love is paddleboarding.

Along the way, I learned the joy of looking at cool rocks from my geologist father. Spending so much time outdoors growing up instilled in me a wonder for the natural world that has never gone away.

My love of rocks and the outdoors led me to study geology at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. While in college, I also pursued my passion for being around water by working as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and by becoming a certified scuba diver.

When I put on dive gear for the first time, I never expected that I would spend the next nine years working in a dive shop helping others discover their passion for the underwater world. After years of part-time work and part-time school, I graduated from Edinboro with my degree in environmental geology.

Meeting the team at BSTI and having the opportunity to work on such an exciting variety of projects convinced me to uproot and move across the state in 2024. As a BSTI geologist, I’m involved in many different types of work, from sample collection to data analysis and reporting. Every day presents new and interesting challenges, and I look forward to getting my hands dirty and having a positive impact on the world through my work.
